PRAIRIE VIEW ELEVATOR
This structure built in 1975, was the last wooden grain elevator built by Manitoba Pool in Manitoba. The Majestic timber framed grain elevators that used to dot the Pembina Valley are quickly vanishing. The Plum Coulee Elevator is one of the last timber framed elevators in our region. In 2001, The Plum Coulee Community Foundation purchased the elevator for the Agricore United Grain Company. The building stands 110 feet tall with 60 foot high annex of grain bins polished to a beautiful luster by many years of grain handling. The wood frame construction as well as the story of grain handling in this huge prairie giant is well worth the tour. Enjoy photos of farming and grain buying in Manitoba and come learn about the wild plum too. The elevator is home to the Plum Coulee Community Foundation office.

The Prairie View Elevator Interpretive Center is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2007. For more information or tours contact the Town Office at 829-3419.
