Van Gogh's Sunflowers -
No stop in Altona would be complete without viewing the town's own contribution to the Guinness Book of World Records! Dubbed the Largest Painting on an Easel, the giant replica of Vincent Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' will simply take your breath away!

 

Carman

King’s Park – The Boyne River flows through the center of town providing a beautifully treed setting for King’s Park where you will find a heated swimming pool with waterslide, tennis courts, horseshoe area, playground, a picnic area, a campground with modern facilities and serviced camping sites. Location: west on PR 245, turn right on Kelly Hand Drive/Kings Park Road.

Carman Golf Course - An excellent 18 hole course that will challenge all skill levels. There is an excellent clubhouse facility with all conveniences. Please call for dates of the many tournaments or to book your tee off time. Location: 1 km west on PR 245. Phone: 745-2366

Dufferin Historical Museum – located at the corner of PR 245 and Kelly Hand Drive/Kings Park Road in King’s Park. Here you will find a collection of water colors by Arthur A. Brooks capturing the feeling of rural life in a by-gone era and places the pioneer collection and native artifacts in a true perspective. Season: May-September. Phone: 745-2467

Historical Mural – a local artist, Chris Larson, painted “A Walk Through Time”. The wall mural depicts some of the history of the Town and Rural Municipality. Location: 69 Main Street South.

Vanderveen Greenhouses — Many acres of greenhouses. Flowers are in bloom year round and bedding plants are available in the spring. Location: west of town on PR #245. Phone: 745-3584 

Walnut Street Tea Room – Victorian tea room established in the foyer of a century old church complete with stained glass windows. Have tea and scones or a home cooked luncheon which are the specialties of this must see attraction. Location: 77 – 2nd Ave. S.W. Phone: 745-6787 

Community Pathway to Active Living – 5 kms of pathway that connects all major areas of the community. Great exercise on this scenic pathway that follows and crosses the river, meanders through King’s Park and follows through the business section of the community. A downtown entry, to the pathway, is located near the wall mural on Main Street South.

Farmers Market — Fresh produce, home baking and preserves sold in an open air market set in the center of the community. Open Fridays, July to Sept. from 4–6 p.m. 

McGill Country Lane - Located two miles south of Carman on Hwy. #3, this craft and gift shop is open year round. Stop to see the large variety of items and pick up fresh vegetables, strawberries and much more in season. Phone: 745-3478

Graham’s Groves - This Saskatoon U-pick is a popular summer stop. Located 5 miles south of Carman on Hwy. #3. Phone: 745-6000

7-6 Ranch - Horse lovers will love this indoor/outdoor-riding arena. Phone: Brad Middleton 745-6139

Carman - A Walk in the Past - Take a leisurely stroll around town enjoying the sites of many historical buildings. A map of the sites is available at the Tourist Booth or Town Office.
